Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Hardware

Machines

  • My daily driver is a MacBook Pro 2025 (M3/18GB) which runs on MacOS Latest.
  • I'm using iPhone 14 as my primary phone, and Nokia 210 as my secondary phone.
  • I have a 27" Philips Monitor which I use as my secondary display.

Software

Software is the most important part of a developer's life. Here is a list of all the software I use on a daily basis.

Development

  • VS Code: My go to code editor. I use VS Code for all my development tasks. I have a custom settings and theme for VS Code which I use everywhere.
  • Cursor: I use Cursor for all my AI assisted coding tasks. It helps me to write code faster and better.
  • Zed: My go to file editor for all other task. It’s light weight, fast and simple.
  • Docker: I use Docker for local development. I have a docker-compose.yml file which I use for most of my projects.
  • Postman: Everyone knows Postman, the app for testing and documenting API endpoints.
  • Mac Terminal: I use Mac Terminal for all my terminal tasks, it's fast and simple and I installed Oh My Zsh on it.
  • Termius: I use Termius for all my SSH tasks. It's fast and simple.

Browsing

  • Chrome: I use Chrome for all my browsing needs. This is my primary browser in my laptop.
  • Safari: I use Safari for all my browsing needs. This is my primary browser in my phone.

Design

  • Figma: I use Figma for all my design tasks. I have a custom theme for Figma which I use everywhere.
  • Canva: I use Canva for all my quick design tasks. It’s fast and simple.

Communication

  • WhatsApp: I use WhatsApp for all my personal chats and group chats and it's my primary communication app.
  • MS Teams: I use MS Teams for all my work related communication.
  • Slack: I use Slack for all my community related communication also official communication.
  • Telegram: I use Telegram for all my random chats and group chats.

Entertainment

  • Youtube: I use Youtube for all my video and mucsic needs with a premium subscription.
  • Games: I play games on my phone. I don't have a specific game that I play regularly.

Social

  • Twitter: I use Twitter for all my social needs. I'm active on Twitter and I use it to share my thoughts and to connect with people.
  • LinkedIn: I use LinkedIn for all my professional needs. I'm active on LinkedIn and I use it to connect with people and to find jobs.

Productivity

  • 1Password: I’ve migrated to 1Password for managing my passwords and sensitive information. It’s secure, easy to use, and integrates well with my browsers.
  • Notion: For taking notes and writings, Notion is my preferred app.
  • MoneyManager: I started using this mobile app to manage my financial activities. It helped me a lot to make budget and to see an overview of my expenditures.
